HR Officer

Position: HR Officer
Unit: Human Resources Unit
Department: Administration Department

Responsibilities

  • Managing monthly Staff Communication services/tools and liaising with the different Network providers.
  • Monitor staff physical attendance, punctuality and absenteeism
  • Compiling and updating employee records (hard and soft copies)
  • Calculate retention, turnover and internal mobility rates, Report on key recruiting metrics like time to fill and hiring costs.
  • Assist in designing hiring and training plans, forecast costs by departments and help create budgets
  • Assess results from our employee performance reviews (APER)
  • Identify top reasons why employees leave the Institute and recommend areas of improvement for our HR procedures
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the HR Manager

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ work experience as an HR Officer or similar role
  • Experience using Human Resources Management Systems
  • Excellent Communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to create detailed spreadsheets, charts and presentations
  • Good research abilities and problem solving skills
  • Familiarity with HR operations including hiring, payroll and employee benefits
  • BSc in Human Resources, Business/Public Administration or relevant field.

HR Assistant (Staffing)

 Responsibilities

  • Processing of ID/Access Control cards as well as Complimentary (Call) Cards
  • Maintaining the HR file management system including regular filing of documents.
  • Handle Logistics for interview processes.
  • Coordinating and managing NYSC Corps and IT Students (acceptance processes, monthly PCs, passing out process (dates and final PCs).
  • Update of National Housing Scheme passbook
  • Ensure provision of stationery for HR Unit at all times
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the SHRO Staffing.

 Requirements

  • Minimum of Three (3) years’ work experience as an HR Assistant or similar role

GENERAL REQUIREMENT

  1. Items on disposal are bought “as they are” without any liability to the institute.
  2. Highest bidder wins the bid but IHVN staff shall be accorded priority on bids if his/her bid tallies with that of an outsider and winners will be communicated by the admin unit.
  3. Bid winners are to make payment within 48 hours to designated account, failure which the item(s) shall be offered to the next highest bidder and so on and so forth.
  4. A bid report will be submitted to the Executive management through the office of Director Admin.
  5. Multiple bids from the same bidder would be disqualified.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Verification and Validation of financial instructions and support documents.
  • Timely Capturing of Vouchers from state offices into the SAGE 300 ERP financial Software.
  • Monthly bank reconciliation of state offices cashbooks in the SAGE 300 ERP financial Software.
  • Perform Collation and filling of financial documents, vouchers, support evidences in line with cashbook print outs on a periodic basis.
  • Performing other finance related duties as required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Must be self-starter with the ability to work in a team, dynamic and open
  • Proficiency in the use of computer application (Microsoft office etc.)
  • Analytical mind and fluency in written and oral communication.
  • Ability to relate with subordinates colleagues and superiors.
  • Innovative with sound mind.
  • Good working knowledge of Sage 300 ERP

Qualifications

  • Possession of a B.Sc. in Accountancy or Higher National Diploma in Accountancy or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 1 year post qualification hands-on experience in an NGO or Grants operational environment is required.
